  • Christina McCarthy

Our Vice Chair and Director of Dance Christina McCarhty won the Apogee Award 2019. The award is given in appreciation of an exceptional support and commitment to the youth of Santa Barbara. 

The Death of Kings: Seize the Crown comes back to UCSB with performances are Saturday, March 16 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, March 17 at 2:00 pm in Theater Dance West 1507.

UCSB alumni Derion Loman won a first round in the hit TV show World of Dance with his partner Madison Olandt that will take them to the Duels.

Associate Professor and Head of Playwriting Concentration Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig is the recipient of a 2019 United States Artists Fellowship, an award given to the most compelling artists working and living in the US.

Join us for the Timely Intersections: Black Histories on the Page and Stage, symposium looking at re-purposing and re-imaging black histories as they move across mediums. Novelist Christopher Paul Curtis and playwright Cheryl West speak at the event.

Join us on Friday, Feb 22nd at 6 pm in the Hatlen Theater as we welcome Judy Shepard, Founding President of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, and panel of scholars to discuss Mathew Shepard's legacy. The event is free, but reservations are required.
