General Advising Guidelines
Walk in advising is available Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-4:00pm for quick questions, signatures, clarification on petitions, or help with an urgent situation.
All undergraduate students meeting with the Undergraduate Program Advisor should bring their student ID with them for all appointments.
Appointments should be made by email for all complex matters such as deciding on a major, academic planning, etc
When e-mailing the Undergraduate Program Advisor please include the following information: Full Name, PERM, Major, and a full explanation of the question.
Students should contact Academic Advising at the College of Letters and Science for questions regarding General Education and University requirements. More information on how to contact the advising office at the College of Letters and Science can be found here.

Undergraduate Peer Advisor

The Undergraduate Program advisor is a staff member who handles the administrative duties of the undergraduate program. The Undergraduate Program Advisor is a good resource for departmental and UC-wide policy.
The Undergraduate Program Advisor has advising walk-in hours Monday through Friday from 1:00-4:00 PM, and is available by appointment at alternative times.

- Advisement for course schedules
- Changing majors (for Juniors and Seniors)
- Referral to campus resources
The Undergraduate Peer advisor is a student member of the PSTAT staff who handles basic questions on the undergraduate program. The Peer Advisor can give a personal perspective on courses and co-curricular activities, as well as give tips and resources on the PSTAT majors.
The Peer advisors can be found at the front desk throughout the week; their hours vary by quarter.

The Faculty Undergraduate Advisors are faculty members who are appointed each year to advise students regarding their academic programs and progress. Undergraduate students should consult with the department’s Faculty Undergraduate Advisors about their program of study
The Faculty Undergraduate Advisor can give general guidance on:
- Undergraduate student academic advising
- Transfer work evaluations
- Graduate School
- Career Exploration
ACTUARIAL PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Students that are interested in the combined BS/MS Actuarial Program will work closely with the Actuarial Program Co-Director, Dr. Raya Feldman, with regards to academic goals, progress, and objectives both in undergrad status and in grad status.
ADVISING GUIDELINES FOR BS/MS ACTUARIAL STUDENTS
- All students in the BS/MS Actuarial Program will consult with the Actuarial Co-Director, Dr. Raya Feldman, instead of the Faculty Graduate Advisor, for academic advising
- Any modification to the standard course requirements for the BS/MS Actuarial Program must be approved by the Actuarial Program Co-Director and documented in the student file
